Abstract

Short, dynamic, and forceful brushstrokes coalesce into energetic lines that seem to point to invisible forces at work in nature,….energetic, natural processes are rendered vividly apparent. Each element is related to every other and everything interacts: chaos and order, intense and subdued tonalities, structure and emotion.

Aderhold understands his work as an artist in terms of a process that cannot be concluded—a structure made up of fixed elements and innovative ideas, a stimulating unity of painterly calculation and experimental openness. Chance and ordered structure permeate and complement one another.
